Cliff Edge Luxury Safari (our most popular two week itinerary)Arrival Day: CEU meets you at airport and transfers you to Entebbe or Kampala. Overnight Boma Guesthouse, Imperial Beach Resort, Africana Hotel.  Day 1: Leave Entebbe/Kampala for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see Rhinos. Overnight Kaniyo Pabidi, Budongo Forest, Murchison Falls Naional Park.
Day 2: Morning Chimp Trekking. Lunch at top of Murchison Falls, with beautiful views of the world’s largest natural force of water roaring through a 20-feet gap in the rocks, dropping 145ft over escarpment. Afternoon Game Drive for surrounding wildlife. Overnight at Nile Safari Camp or Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive with ferry crossing to northern bank of River Nile, seeing giraffe, hartebeest, elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, sitatunga, oribi. Afternoon Boat Safari along the Nile River to bottom of the Falls, seeing hippo, giant Nile crocodile, incredible aquatic bird life. Chance of seeing the rare shoebill. Overnight at NSC or PSL.
Day 4: Drive from Murchison to Kibale Forest National Park, seeing African landscapes of savannah and forest, agricultural area rich with endless fruits and vegetables, small town life, countryside picnic lunch. Spectacular views of Lake Albert. Continue to foothills of Rwenzori Mountains, driving through tea plantations and arriving to Kibale tropical rainforest. Many photo opportunities. Overnight Ndali Lodge or Primate Lodge.
Day 5: Morning Chimp Trekking on foot with expert Kibale guides. Kibale has the greatest variety and density of primates on earth (13 species). Excellent chimp trekking, various monkeys, besides buffalo, genet and civet. Prolific bird watching such as: black crowned waxbill. grey-headed oliveback. Traditional African Home visit lunch at Tinka’s Place. Afternoon walk at Bigodi Swamp for birds and primates; an eco-tourism venture run by the local community. Overnight Ndali Lodge or Primate Lodge.
Day 6: Optional Kasiisi School visit. Morning Game Drive enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Elephant, lion, Uganda kob. Over 630 bird species; more than any other protected area in Africa. Stop at the Equator. Overnight at Jacana Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 7: Morning Game Drive with hippo grazing, lions hunting, spotted hyena, elephant, bushbuck, elusive leopard. Afternoon launch cruise on famous Kazinga Channel, a birding paradise acts as a migrant bird trap. One of world’s largest concentration of hippos—over 30,000. Local fishing village life on the banks. Overnight at JL or MSL.
Day 8: Drive to Ishasha, southern sector of QENP through Western Rift Valley for tree-climbing lions, with savannah grasses and acacia. Prolific game and birds. Overnight Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
Day 9: Morning Game Drive. Afternoon Game Drive to river with hippo families, lions lounging in Sycamore trees, topi, leopard, elephant. Overnight IWC.
Day 10: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for the famous Mountain Gorillas. Beautiful drive through Kigezi Highlands of southwestern Uganda. Breathtaking scenery. Good photo opportunities. Wildlife, plant life, roadside cultural life. Birds: Redtailed Bristle Bill. Rare Redfronted Ant-pecker. Afternoon in Buhoma village. Cultural youth dance performance. Craft shopping. Overnight at Silverback Lodge, Volcano Camp, Gorilla Forest Camp or.
Day 11: Gorilla Trekking with expert trackers and guides. Bwindi is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. This is the most exciting and challenging point of the safari. Serious hiking to find the roaming gorillas in their shifting daily locale. Face to face with these ancient peaceful giants for one hour is one of nature’s great blessings. Overnight at VC, GFC or SL.
Day 12: Option for second Gorilla Trekking. Drive morning or afternoon through breathtaking mountains to Lake Mburo National Park. Herds of dramatic Ankole cattle with amazing long horns share the roads. Overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 13: Morning Game walk. Zebra, plonking impala, topi, eland, possible leopard. Afternoon Game Drive or optional leisure at the pool overlooking wildlife below escarpment. Overnight ML.
Day 14: Drive to Kampala stopping at Craft Market, roadside produce and fresh fish stands, Equator, Drum makers. Day Room or Overnight in Entebbe/Kampala, depending on departing flight. Overnight Boma Guesthouse, Imperial Beach Hotel, Africana Hotel.
Day 15: Optional tour of Kampala; Old Kampala, Craft market, Kasubi tombs, Nderi Dance Troupe, Baha’i Temple, Namirembe and Rubaga cathedrals. Departing flight.
Safari Package Cost includes all transportation, guides, park fees, gorilla permits, lodging, meals (except days in Kampala or Entebbe). Above safari costs between $6500 - $8000 per person, depending on choice of lodging and days of gorilla trekking, Kampala city tour.
